Berkeley Heights Service Unit Meeting

1. WELCOME GSHNJ BH SU - Deb Knapp
• Troops that have a representative at every meeting this year can win a pizza party for your troop
• Troop 40208 won a pizza party for attending every Service unit meeting
2. Council Update - Marisa Dietrich (GSHNJ Field Executive) - mdietrich@gshnj.org 908-947-1721
3. BHGS Troop 40922 - Present Silver Award and Cookbooks
• Recipes were from other girl scouts, family and friends
• Donating a portion of the procedures to the local food bank
• Can contact troop 40922 at troop40922@gmail.com to order a cookbook
4. Registration Update - Elizabeth Kane
• Registration has been moved to online
• Please make sure to have your girls and parent register
• You can print the troop summary/ registration form from the website
• Please send a copy of your troop roster to bhwrc@gmail.com
• Email Barb Smith if you know of any new girl scout who wants to join in Daisies.
• Do not take in a new girl into your troop, please contact Deb Knapp.
5. Product Sales - Linda Haines
• Nut/candy/magazine sale September 29th to October 19th
• Delivery between November 13 to 17th
• Troops need to email Linda Haines if they are interested in selling
• New this year is gift of caring for magazines as well as nuts
• Profit is the same as last year
• Troops can do a booth sale the weekend of November 17-18 if interested
6. BHGS Events
• Mitten Tree - Saturday December 1, 2012 ??
• A troop is needed to run it
• Daisy Teddy Bear Tea
• Troop 40674 will run it. It will in January 2013
• 6th Grade Buehler Challenger Trip
• Troop 40266 will run the event. It is an overnight with team building activities. The event will be in January 2013
• Encampment - Margaret Illis
• Dates are 4/12-4/14
• An adult is needed to shadow Margaret to take over for next year.
• Mommy and Me Camping
• Someone Special and Me Dance
• Troop 40748 will be running it
• The date is April 26th
• It will be open to the K-5th grade
• Girl Scout Birthday Rollerskating Party
• Troop 40494 will be running it
• It will be in March 2013
• There will be a small fee per troop/individual
• World Thinking Day
• A troop is need to run the program
• K-4 goes to the event. Grades 5-12 teach about the different countries
• It will be in February 2013, date TBD
7. Service unit gathering each month or every other month
• The troops will come together to do a community service activity
• It would be a Friday night and the troop will do a craft that will be donated
• The date will be TBA
8. BHSU t-shirts - Stephanie Skidmore
• The first batch of shirts are in
• If interested in ordering shirts for your troop, contact Stephanie Skidmore
• Shirts are $10 each
9. CPR/ First Aid Training - is anyone in need??
