Service Unit Manager Carmela Arale welcomed everyone to the meeting, and reported to us that our Council liaison, Rachael Treadwell, is no longer with the Girl Scouts Heart of NJ. We currently have no one in charge of our area at the council office. If you need help, please contact either Carmela or Sue DeCarlo at the council office. She can be contacted through the GSHNJ website.

World Thinking Day, being held on Feb. 21st, from 2:00-4:30 at the BH Rehab Center, is still in need of participants. Please check the BHGS website for all the information, and please sign your troop up to either present information or just to participate as a visitor. Please note that girls are allowed to attend on their own, without their troop, so encourage your girls to attend, even if the leaders can't make it!

Linda Haines gave us the details of the cookie delivery, scheduled for Feb. 28th. Delivery will take place at the BH YMCA, on the child-care side. She will e-mail the cookie managers to let them choose their pick-up times, on a first-come, first-served basis. Pick-up times will probably be between 12 and 5 pm. Please make sure that your troop has someone WHO WILL NOT BE AT EMCAMPMENT available to pick up your cookies.

Winter Encampment has been opened up to 3rd grade troops on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Margaret Illis if you would like to join the other troops at Camp Hoover. Girls can also sign up to attend with their mom, if they are not going with their troop.

Troops wanting to use Creation Studio or Townley Hall during encampment should e-mail Margaret Illis to reserve a time.

The Ready, Set, Go Camping program for Brownies, being held on March 20th, is full, but another date has been added. Troop 748 will run the program at Hamilton Terrace School on March 27th, as well. Sign-ups must be done through the GSHNJ council; check their website to sign up.

Finally, we are planning to celebrate the Girl Scouting Birthday this year with a roller-skating party at the Florham Park Roller Rink, as we have done in the past. The date has not been set yet, so keep an eye on the BH website for more details!
